As they settled, they enslaved the peaceful indigenous tribes in the region. Yet, they soon found themselves under pressure from two major powers—Eastern Orthodox Christianity to the north and Islam rising from the south.

A Political Conversion, Not a Spiritual One

Faced with the risk of offending one power by joining the other, their king made a politically expedient choice. He summoned the religious leaders of the region to seek counsel for his people—numbering around 20 million, with roughly 4,000 nobles.

Ultimately, they chose a new religion, but it was not born of true conviction. Instead, this “conversion” was purely political, designed to protect their power and influence. They studied their chosen faith not out of belief but to master the art of deception.

Their True Allegiance

While pretending to follow their new faith, they discovered a figure with whom they truly identified—Lucifer, the fallen angel who became Satan, the adversary.
