Christmas is a Satanic Holiday

Unwrapping the Deception

Every December, the world is engulfed in lights, music, and tinsel—but beneath the festive surface lies a dark truth. Christmas, as celebrated today, is not a biblical holiday. In fact, it’s deeply rooted in pagan rituals, idol worship, and satanic symbolism. For Hebrew Israelites and those seeking truth, this is not just a harmless tradition—it’s a spiritual trap.

The Bible Warns Against Pagan Traditions

“Thus saith YAHUAH, Learn not the way of the heathen…”
Jeremiah 10:2 (KJV)

The Bible is clear: the children of YAHUAH are not to imitate pagan customs. Jeremiah 10 goes on to describe cutting a tree from the forest, decking it with silver and gold, and fastening it so it stands upright. Sound familiar? That’s the modern-day Christmas tree.

“For the customs of the people are vain…”Jeremiah 10:3

YAHUAH gave us Feast Days to honor Him (Leviticus 23). Christmas is nowhere in the Scriptures. It is a man-made holiday built on rebellion against the Most High.

Christmas and Saturnalia: The Roman Roots

The celebration of December 25th originates from Saturnalia, an ancient Roman festival honoring Saturn, the god of agriculture and time. This festival was known for:

  • Gift-giving

  • Feasting

  • Drunkenness

  • Role reversal

  • Worship of the sun god Sol Invictus

According to the Encyclopedia Britannica:

“Saturnalia… was celebrated on December 17–24… It was the most popular holiday in the Roman calendar and influenced the later celebration of Christmas.”

The Catholic Church deliberately merged this pagan celebration with the birth of the Messiah to gain pagan converts. But this blending of truth with lies is an abomination (Deuteronomy 12:30–31).

Santa Claus: An Idol Masked as Cheer

The modern Santa Claus is a combination of various figures:

  • St. Nicholas (a Catholic bishop)

  • Odin (a Norse god who rode a flying horse)

  • Father Christmas (a spirit of debauchery and wine)

He is a false deity who:

  • Sees all and knows all (mimicking YAHUAH)

  • Rewards or punishes behavior (mimicking Messiah’s judgment)

  • Has supernatural powers (sorcery)

This is idolatry disguised as folklore, and Scripture says:

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”Exodus 20:3

“Santa” = “Satan”: The Anagram and the Deception

It’s no coincidence that “Santa” is an anagram of Satan. Both:

  • Wear red

  • Travel supernaturally

  • Are associated with fire or chimneys

  • Are called “father” (Father Christmas vs. Father of Lies)

“Marvel not; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
2 Corinthians 11:14

Satan uses holiday cheer as a weapon of distraction, especially targeting children—training them from youth to accept lies over truth.

What the Bible Says About Pagan Worship

“Take heed… that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.”
Deuteronomy 12:30

YAHUAH forbids borrowing pagan practices and calling it worship. Even if we attach His name to it, He sees it as spiritual adultery.

“They provoked Him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they Him to anger.”
Deuteronomy 32:16

This includes singing “Silent Night” around a Christmas tree—a ritual YAH never ordained.

Saint Nick Unmasked: The Demon Behind the Myth

Historian Tony van Renterghem writes:

“Santa Claus comes from the Norse god Odin. He was a demon of death. The red suit symbolizes blood sacrifice. His sleigh was pulled by flying beasts.”

Even the Catholic origin of Saint Nicholas is filled with non-biblical legends, false miracles, and veneration of a man (violating Exodus 20:4–5).

Why Hebrew Israelites Must Reject Christmas

As Israelites, we are called to be set apart (Deuteronomy 14:2, Leviticus 20:26). Celebrating Christmas:

  • Joins us to pagan roots

  • Disobeys Torah

  • Invites spiritual judgment

“Ye cannot drink the cup of the ELOHIM, and the cup of devils…”
1 Corinthians 10:21

We must choose sides. Christmas is not neutral—it is a celebration of another god. Even many mainstream Christian scholars admit Christmas has pagan and satanic origins.

Overall Review in Comparison Chart:

Call to Repentance: Return to YAHUAH’s Appointed Times

Rather than keeping pagan holidays, Scripture gives us Feasts of YAH:

  • Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits

  • Pentecost, Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Tabernacles

These are prophetic markers pointing to Messiah’s redemptive plan. YAHUSHUA never observed Christmas—but He did keep the Feasts (John 7:2, Luke 22:15).

Come Out of Her, My People

“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins…”
Revelation 18:4

The call is clear. Christmas is not holy, not biblical, and not of YAH. It is a pagan feast day rooted in rebellion, deception, and satanic tradition.

If we claim to follow YAHUAH and His Son YAHUSHUA, we must leave the lies behind—no matter how nostalgic or mainstream they may be.
