How Hebrew Israelite Doctrine Shapes Faith and Identity in Today’s World

We understand that the Bible is a contract between us, the (Hebrew Israelites) and Yahuah. This “contract” or “covenant” is an essential aspect of our doctrine; it affirms that the Bible is more than a “Holy Book.” (See our book series, “The Ruach Ha’ Kodesh” for more understanding).

The ‘covenant’ is a central aspect of our doctrine. It outlines the promises and responsibilities between both parties, thus setting the foundation for our way of life. This ‘covenant’ is not just a contract; it is a divine agreement that guides everything from how we worship to how we treat others.

It is also a blueprint that includes our laws, commandments, and teachings. These laws are not historical relics—they are active, guiding principles for how we live today. Following these laws signifies respect and loyalty to Yahuah, reaffirming the “covenant” made long ago with our ancestors.

Our “Covenant” shapes and heavily influences our doctrine by giving us direction for everything from keeping the dietary laws (see our book,  The Original Bible Diet: What is the Bible Diet and Why is Understanding Kashrut so important to Kosher Eating?), to observing the Sabbath (see our book, All About The SABBATHS: Keeping, Guarding & Remembering). Instruction for any and everything is in this “divine” agreement, which gives us a sense of duty to uphold our end of the “Covenant.” It shapes not only our “religious” practices but our worldview as well.

The impact of breaking our agreement to obey the dictates of this “Covenant” is evident today. If we look at the transatlantic slave trade, we see the direct result of forced migration and how the loss of our identity has impacted us.

We were dispersed across the Atlantic Ocean and globally, thus severing our ties to our original lands. This not only separated families but fractured our cultural and “religious” identities, leaving many of our descendants unsure of who and where we came from.

Moreover, we see the connection between the “curses” and hardships we faced, not only with being “dispersed” but also with the “unbearable hardship” we have endured. Yahuah told us in the book of Deuteronomy the consequences of breaking the “Covenant.” Many Hebrew Israelites believe the curses promised to last some four hundred years have been lifted.

Despite the trials of slavery, colonization, and systemic oppression, we have managed to hold on, even when stripped of our language and customs. The sense of being “chosen” has helped us preserve our unique identity throughout history (see our book, The Chosen Seed: Predestination). Our doctrine connects us deeply to our ancient roots and reminds us of our Covenant with Yahuah and our ultimate destiny as “His” “chosen” people.

Tantamount to this, our doctrine offers purpose and resilience in a hostile and unjust world. The teachings act as a “moral” compass that guides us through life’s most difficult challenges. By operating within the bounds of the “Covenant,” we have proven we can overcome all things. The idea that suffering has a purpose—linked directly to the “Covenant”—is central to maintaining faith in times of adversity. It is a roadmap that helps us navigate life’s complexities, giving us a clear direction and helping us find shalom (see our book, Peace Be Still John 14:27: Peace For Everyday Living, His Shalom.” We feel strong and capable, knowing that our doctrine instills in us the ability to endure and enable us to face adversity with courage and determination.

This has not gone unnoticed; we have seen a “revival” amongst the people; the Hebrew Israelite doctrine is spreading, and more of our people are returning to the Bible and its teachings. Some call this an “awakening,” as individuals discover or rediscover their heritage as descendants of the Israelites.

Once forgotten or suppressed, the Bible’s teachings are being studied with fresh eyes, offering a new generation the chance to reconnect with their spiritual roots. This modern-day awakening is a cultural and social “revival.” Many Israelites seek to reclaim their identity by embracing their heritage and rejecting the false narratives imposed on them for centuries. This resurgence of interest in our doctrine is helping to reframe how our people understand themselves and their place in the world.

Hebrew Israelites are finding empowerment; the “doctrine” is not just about learning the “ancient laws—it’s about rediscovering their divine purpose and using that knowledge to better their lives. This awakening sparks change within communities, promotes unity, and helps individuals navigate modern challenges with a clear sense of identity. As a new generation, we embrace our heritage with pride and conviction, feeling connected and part of a larger whole, united by our shared beliefs and purpose.
