Understanding Hebrew Israelite Teachings on Yahushua Ha’Mashiach: Faith and Commandments Unveiled

For us, the teachings of Yahushua Ha’Mashiach (commonly known as Jesus) represent a profound pathway to salvation specifically for the lost tribes of Israel. Yahushua’s words were not merely lessons but directives—a living guide for aligning our lives with Yahuah (God) and embodying our heritage and covenant. By embracing His teachings, we engage in a lifestyle centered on the commandments, understanding that obedience and active faith form the purest expression of love for both Yahuah and Yahushua.

Yahushua Ha’Mashiach: Savior of Israel

When Yahushua walked among us, His mission was not general but specific, clearly aimed at redeeming the people of Israel. This purpose is recorded directly in Matthew 15:24 (KJV): “But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” This statement underscores our belief in Yahushua’s role as the redeemer of Israel, the one who came to renew the covenant Yahuah established with our ancestors.

This connection speaks to our identity as Hebrew Israelites. Yahushua’s focus on Israel alone has great meaning because it highlights that our covenant relationship with Yahuah is not only relevant but ongoing. To us, Yahushua is more than a spiritual teacher—He is the fulfillment of Yahuah’s promise to Israel, bridging the past and present in our collective journey back to Yahuah. His words are not just reminders of the covenant but evidence of the role Israel plays in Yahuah’s divine plan.

Commandments: The Core of Faith

As Hebrew Israelites, we view Yahuah’s commandments as the core of our faith and way of life. To us, they are not suggestions but the foundation upon which our lives are built. Yahushua Himself emphasized the importance of obedience in John 14:15 (KJV): “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” This statement isn’t just a call to obey but an instruction on how to show love to Yahuah. Obedience is a direct expression of our love, aligning our actions with Yahushua’s life and the teachings He upheld.

Obeying the commandments, then, is more than fulfilling a requirement. It is our way of honoring Yahushua’s example and aligning with the purpose Yahuah set for us as His chosen people. It’s how we show that we are part of the covenant Yahushua renewed for Israel.

The Two Great Commandments

Yahushua simplified the core principles of the commandments, bringing them to a central focus in what we know as the “two great commandments.” These are recorded in Matthew 22:37-39 (KJV):

“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

These two commandments don’t replace the Ten Commandments but summarize them, giving us a guide for how we should live daily. The first commandment to love Yahuah encompasses the first four of the Ten Commandments, which focus on our relationship with Him. The second commandment, to love our neighbor as ourselves, covers the remaining six, which emphasize how we treat others.

These two commandments serve as the foundation of our philosophy and lifestyle. They go beyond simple rules and represent how we live out our faith and fulfill our covenant with Yahuah. Through these principles, we build and strengthen our community, each of us accountable not only to Yahuah but to one another.

Faith Expressed Through Action

Faith, for us, is something active and visible. It is lived out through our actions, showing our dedication and commitment to Yahuah. In James 2:17 (KJV), we read: “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” This powerful reminder shapes our understanding that faith without action has no substance. If we are to be truly committed, our faith must go beyond words—it must be shown in the way we live.

For us, works are not a way to earn favor but a demonstration of love and reverence. By keeping Yahuah’s laws and commandments, we show our commitment, proving that our faith is alive and strong. This approach to faith is central to Hebrew Israelite life, for we believe that true faith can’t be separated from the works that follow it.

Commandments as an Act of Love

For Hebrew Israelites, following Yahuah’s commandments is the ultimate act of love. Yahushua reinforced this perspective in Matthew 22:40 (KJV): “On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” This statement reveals that the entire framework of Yahuah’s law is built upon these principles of love—love for Yahuah and love for our neighbors. The commandments guide every part of life, from worship to family relationships, ethics, and community living.

Obeying the commandments reflects our deep love and respect for Yahuah. It’s a love that is shown through action, ensuring that our relationship with Yahuah is reflected in every part of our lives. Each commandment is an opportunity to show that love, reinforcing our connection with Yahuah and allowing us to honor Him fully.

The 400 Years of Captivity Prophecy

In our understanding, the prophecy in Genesis 15:13 (KJV) directly connects to the history and experiences of the Hebrew Israelite people: “And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years.” Many Hebrew Israelites see this prophecy as a foreshadowing of the transatlantic slave trade and the diaspora that followed. This period of oppression reflects the struggles of our people, and the fulfillment of this prophecy is seen as both a warning and a call to return to Yahuah.

The significance of the 400-year period is also deeply spiritual. As it draws to a close, many Hebrew Israelites believe that the time has come to reconnect with Yahuah’s commandments, recognizing this as a time of awakening and renewal. The end of the 400 years marks a shift, a chance to reclaim our covenant with Yahuah and fulfill the destiny He has set for us.

The Living Covenant

The covenant with Yahuah is not merely a historical contract but a living, active relationship that requires our commitment and dedication. Yahushua Ha’Mashiach’s teachings remind us that faith and love for Yahuah must be shown in action, especially through the commandments. This covenant is an agreement, a path we are privileged to follow, honoring Yahuah’s ways.

For Hebrew Israelites, the covenant is not just a set of rules. It’s a way of life and a testament to our identity as Yahuah’s chosen people. Obedience is how we walk this path, a tangible connection to the Creator. It is how we show the world what it means to live as Yahuah’s people.
